• You have studied or have an interest in law, but want to specifically know the techniques on how to commence an investigation, handle evidence, proper note taking, conduct interviews, maintaining the integrity of files, writing concise reports and prepare court-ready documents.

Our Ontario Private Investigation - Licencing Preparatory Course covers all the required competency areas required for this training. It is designed to help you pass the Ontario Provincial exam and apply for your Private Investigator Licence.  

This course focuses on the Private Investigation Provincial competencies which include:

• The Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005 (PSISA)
• Provincial and Federal Statutes 
• Criminal and Civil Law 
• Investigative Techniques
• Principles of Ethical Reasoning/Decision-Making 
• Key Principles of Communication and Interaction 
• Self-Management Skills 

We are registered with Ministry of the Community Safety and Correctional Services as a Private Investigator Training Provider. Our online course meets the Training and Testing Regulations of the PSISA.

After successful completion of our course you will be issued a Training Completion Number that you can use to book your Ministry Private Investigator Exam.

The Instructor:

The instructor of this course is Mr. Leon Presner. He is currently a licenced Private Investigator and owns and manages 10-8 Investigative Services, a registered Private Investigative Agency in the Province of Ontario. 

Mr. Presner is a retired Police Officer of 27 1/2 years with the Durham Regional Police Service. While in the Detective Constable role, his specialization was investigating computer-related crimes, frauds and sexual assaults.  He is also a part-time professor at Centennial College teaching the Law Clerk and Paralegal program.
